Beatriz Leão was born in 1998, Lisboa, where she lived and studied since her childhood. Her academic path was marked by degree in Design from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon. After graduate, she decided to took her first steps towards working in the field of Product and furniture Design, in the Atelier Filipa Lacerda and after, in the are of Communication Design and Illustration, at Carla Nazareth’s studio NósnaLinha.


In 2021, she moved to Oporto to study in master degree in Fine Arts - Painting, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto . This is an area in which she has never ceased to establish an intrinsic relationship, which was already revealed in her design projects, and she sees this multidiciplinary communication as a happy ground of her career. In 2023 she took part in the group exhibitions grant Prémio Árvore das Virtudes 2023, and Prémio de Artes plásticas Henrique Silva 2023 and also held her first solo exhinition “Eu quero a minha cama do Alentejo” (I want my Alentejo ́s bed) at Túnel space in Oporto.


In November 2023, she presented her project report entitled “O caminho do corpo no atelier. A pintura como manifestação desse trajecto” (The body’s track in the art studio. Painting as a manifestation of this all path). In January 2024, she travelled to Brazil, where she carried out the project “Pela Palma do Pé” (by my sole foot) winner of the Emunicipa-te grant, funded by the municipality of Cascais in partnership with de Gap Year Portugal. In May and June of the same year, she attended the EV_Largo residency programme at the Largo das Artes space in Rio de Janeiro, where she held an exhibition alongside Ricardo Monteiro entitled “Stretching the Horizon”, which presents a all project based on her experience.
